Mrs. Edwin J. Towslee, former Glenwood resident, passed away Thursday, January 8, at her residence, 702 Lindberg Drive in Council Bluffs. Funeral services were held at 3:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon, January 11, from the Cutler chapel with Father Albert Baker of St. Paul’s Episcopal church officiating. The body was taken to Lyons, Wisconsin for burial.

She is survived by one son, Jerome Towslee, of Chicago and one brother, Fred Fellows, of Lyons, Wisconsin.

Glenwood’s older residents will remember Mrs. Towslee, the wife of Ed Towslee of the firm Towslee Bros., confectioners and fruit dealers, some 50 years ago on the south side of the square. She was prominent in Glenwood’s social circles, member and officer of the Glenwood Woman’s club and took an active part in all civic affairs. Since moving to Council Bluffs, she has continued her interest in various woman’s organizations being past president of the Woman’s club and an active member in several literary clubs.
