March 10, 1921A splendid woman has gone from among us. A husband and children mourn one whose greatest happiness was in serving them.
Mrs. Ora Lee made friends and held them by her kindliness.
Nora Belle Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marquis Lafayette Scott, was born in Centerville, IA., September 4, 1872, and departed this life March 2, 1921, at her home in West Glenwood following a few days of illness from pneumonia.
She came with her parents to Pacific Junction in 1880.
On December 26, 1893, she was united in marriage with Ora D. Lee. To this union four children were born—-Mrs. Ray Howick, Mrs. C.C. Lipsett, both of Glenwood, and Scottie and Carol, at home.
Mrs. Lee, besides her immediate family, is survived by her mother, Mrs. Emma Scott, of Pacific Junction; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Beach of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. R.J. Sellers of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Carol Penick of St. Joseph, Mo.; three brothers, James and Ernest Scott of Pacific Junction and Purl Scott of Kansas City, and one grandchild, Carol Virginia Howick.
She united with the Methodist church in early life and ever remained a true and loyal member.
Her life has been such that her husband and children call her blessed.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church of Glenwood Monday afternoon, March 7, conducted by the pastor, Rev. L.E. Ripley, assisted by Revs. Howard Mintle and Thomas Evans.
