The death of little Irene Schlapia occurred at the home of her parents in the north part of town, Tuesday March 25th, after a prolonged illness of pneumonia. Funeral held Thursday, March 27, conducted by Rev. M.A. Gable.

Irene Bell Schlapia was born July 6, 1906, and died March 25, 1913, making her six years eight months and nineteen days old when she left us. She leaves to mourn her death, father, mother, sister and other relatives and a host of friends, for everyone who knew her loved her. Irene was in her second year at school and was an exceptionally bright and intelligent child and will be greatly missed by her teacher and schoolmates. There is no death! An Angel form walks over the earth with silent tread. He bears our best loved things away, and then we call them “dead.” He leaves our hearts all desolated. He plucks our finest, sweetest flowers: Transplanted into bliss they now adorn immortal bowers.
