Glenwood Opinion Tribune
December 30, 1941

Brief services were held Saturday morning, Dec. 28 at 10:30 o'clock at the Myers Funeral Home for Joan Louise, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard DuVal of Alliance, Neb., conducted by Rev. H.G. Parker, pastor of the Methodist church of this city.

The life span of little Joan Louise was of brief duration, she and her twin brother, James, being born Dec. 10, and her baby spirit claimed by the death angel on Christmas day. She was tiny and frail, weighing but three pounds at birth. Everything known to medical skill and nursing was done for her at the Alliance hospital, but to no avail.

The parents, seven-year-old brother, Larey, and the little twin brother, James, survive her, besides numerous other relatives in this vicinity where they formerly resided. The father accompanied the little body to Glenwood, where interment was made in the Glenwood cemetery.
