January 22, 1917Word has been received by relatives in Hastings telling of the death of Mrs. Sarah Jane Simkins, which occurred December 29 near Norfolk, Neb., which has been the home of the family for near 20 years.
The deceased was a member of the Starr family. She was a sister of Manuel, Albert, J.W. and Willard Starr of Hastings, Samuel Starr of Malvern and Mesdames N.W. Hodge and Effie Kennedy of Hastings.
The Simkins family at one time lived near Hastings, moving away about twenty years ago. The deceased leaves a husband and four sons and two daughters to mourn her.
