Derik James Bolton, 19, of Glenwood, was pronounced deceased on April 11, 2005 in Pacific Junction, Iowa, near Pony Creek Pond. Services were held April 16 at Martin Chapel Cemetery in Pacific Junction, President Ron Bendorf presided.

Mr. Bolton was born in Hamburg, Iowa Nov. 12, 1985 to Kurtis Brian and Darla Irene (Evans) Bolton. Mr. Bolton was a 2004 graduate of Glenwood Community High School and was employed at the Target store in Council Bluffs. He loved camping, fishing, boating and jet skiing with his family and friends. He was a fan of NASCAR and football.

Mr. Bolton was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Evans Jr. He is survived by his parents, Kurtis and Darla Bolton of Glenwood; grandparents, Shirley Bolton and Glen Bolton and Carol Evans, all of Glenwood; great-grandmother, Virginia Fichter of Council Bluffs; aunt, Desiree Evans of Corning, Lou Timson of Glenwood; uncles, Dale Evans, Jr. of Council Bluffs, Terry Bolton of Eagle River, Alaska, Paul Bolton of Glenwood; and several great-aunts and uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Peterson Mortuary handled the arrangements.
