The severe illness of Mrs. Carl Baxter, of which The Tribune made mention in Monday’s paper, proved more serious than was at first anticipated. Her sickness proved to be a case of appendicitis, and an operation was determined upon as the only hope of relief. Mrs. Baxter was taken to an Omaha hospital Monday evening and the same night was operated upon.

The shock was evidently too much for her weakened condition, and on Tuesday evening she passed away.

The body was brought to Hastings on Wednesday.

The funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from the M.E. church in Hastings and burial will be at Randolph.
