John T. Hindman was born September 12, 1836, and died December 15, 1919, aged 83 years 4 months and 3 days. He has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. C.B. Hatcher, south of Council Bluffs, and recently of Glenwood, since the death of his wife four years ago.
Mr. Hindman was a soldier of the Civil war. He enlisted August 15, 1862 at Sidney, Ia., and was honorably discharged August 12, 1865. He was a member of Joe Ross Post, G.A.R. at Sidney, Ia.
He leaves one brother, Wm. Hindman, of Dansbury, Neb., and the daughter of whose home he died. Eight grandchildren and a host of friends also mourn his departure.
The body was taken to King’s Undertaking Parlors at Council Bluffs at which place the funeral was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial was in the Malvern cemetery, conveyed there by auto.
