MRS. MARY A. PARMER

Mrs. Mary A. Parmer, who has been suffering for some time past from cancer, passed away at her home in the south part of town on Christmas day. The funeral was held from the Methodist church on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R.W. Matheny, the pastor. The pall bearers were members of the G.A.R., of which her late husband had also been a member. They were Messrs. G.W. Black, R.A. Wills, Philip Hambsch, Benj. Miller, Eli Vickery, Allen Smith and A.J. Hamilton.

The following obituary was read at the services:

Mary A. Guy was born Sept. 21, 1844, and departed this life Dec. 25, 1910, being 66 years, 3 months and 4 days of age at her death. She was married in Decatur county, Iowa to Joseph T. Parmer in the year 1865. To this union were born eight children, five girls and three sons, all of whom are living, except one son and one daughter. Some six years ago the hand of death was laid upon her husband and she was left in lonely widowhood to journey through life.

In early life she was converted and united with the United Brethren church. She has been a great sufferer for some years, being afflicted with cancer. On Christmas Day relief came to her, when God kindly called her from this world of pain and sorrow to the land where there is no more death. She has lived in Malvern for some six years and has been known as a good and kind old lady. She leaves four daughters and two sons, with their families, and many friends in bereavement, for she has gone from the home never to return, but have the consolation of knowing that she has gone to the home in Heaven to which all are invited to come.
