John E. Seward

Mr. John E. Seward, who recently moved here from Littleton, Ill., died at his home in the Edd Brown house Thursday, Dec. 12, at the age of 61 years, 5 months and 10 days.

The deceased had been in rather poor health for some time but his death was unexpected. He was born in Schuyler county, Ill., and lived there a good part of his life. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his loss.

The deceased was a member of the Baptist church and also belonged to the Masonic fraternity. His life showed a strong consistent christian character.

John E. Seward was a veteran of the Civil War. He served with Co G 73rd Illinois Infantry.
