GABRIEL PERKINS had been suffering for some time past with consumption and for the past few weeks had been confined to his home. The end came Monday night about midnight and the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. H.R. Waldo of the Baptist church.

Gerald Perkins was born in Jackson county, Iowa, in the year of 1842. He enlisted in the war in 1861 and was discharged in 1865 and was married to Miss Anna Allambaugh Sept. 28th, 1865, in Page county, Iowa. Nine children have been born to them, all but two are living, two daughters having passed from death into everlasting life. The deceased was 59 years, 9 months and 10 days old. and had been in poor health for a long time.
