Virginia L. Maxwell age 89 of Tabor, IA died on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Tabor Manor Care Center in Tabor, IA following an extended illness.

Virginia was born November 15, 1915 in Lincoln township, Montgomery County, Iowa to Donald William Woods and Bernice Louise (Carlson) Woods.

On September 21, 1935, she was married to Oakley Lloyd Maxwell in Red Oak, IA. Virginia was a member of the Tabor, IA First Christian Church. She was an avid gardener and active in the Christian Women’s Fellowship at the church.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oakley Lloyd Maxwell; daughter, Dianna Louise Lorimor; 4 sisters, Eleanor Richards, Dorothy Fulkerson, Helen Thoren, and Erma Barr; 3 brothers, Syke, Charles, and James Donald Woods; 2 sons in law, Walter Dean Carnes and Bernard Lorimor. She is survived by 3 daughters, Donna Darlene Carnes of Carrollton, TX, Shirley A. Hill-Marshall & husband Edward of Council Bluffs, IA, and Marsha Jean Sowers and husband Richard of Emerson, IA; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter, 3 brothers, Dean Woods of Red Oak, IA, Clement Woods of LaVista, NE and Paul Woods and wife Joyce of Treynor, IA; sister in law, Letha Van Horn of Tarkio, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
