Francis Joseph Asbury

F.J. Asbury, for the past five years employed as painter at the Glenwood institution, died early Sunday morning from cancer of the jaw and throat. He has been sick since August at which time the cancer first made its appearance.

The funeral was held from his late home on Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock, conducted by Rev. J.H. Skiles of the Congregational church. The deceased was born May 3, 1872, in Wapello county, Iowa. He is survived by a wife and four children.

He was married April 17, 1895, to Laura R. Crawford at Tingley, Iowa.

In attendance at the funeral were his father, mother, two sisters and a brother of Albia, and an uncle of Ottumwa, also the mother of Mrs. Asbury from Tingley. The relatives desire to express thanks to kind friends for remembrance to their hour of sorrow.
