Jay W. Wright, 69, of Glenwood, Iowa entered into eternal rest on November 13, 2004 at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, NE. He was born January 21, 1935 in Pacific Junction, Iowa to Roy and Helen (Fisher) Wright.
Jay was a resident of Mills County most of his life. He faithfully served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Jay was employed at the Glenwood State Hospital School as a supervisor until his retirement. He was a member of the Glenwood Eagles (F.O.E.). Some of his favorite pleasures in life were fishing, socializing with family and friends and he especially enjoyed attending ball games to watch his nieces and nephews participate.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jerry Wright and Bill Wright. He is survived by his sister-in-laws, Jacquline Wright of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Eloise Wright of Glenwood, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Teresa and husband Mike Carlson of Elkhorn, NE, Tonya and husband George Adams of Malvern, Iowa, Tammie and husband Robert McGrew of Emerson, Iowa, Woody and wife Stormie Wright of Glenwood, Iowa, Todd and wife Susan Wright of Glenwood, Iowa, Brad and wife Becki Wright of Red Oak, Iowa; several great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood, Iowa on November 17, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Darrell Hopp officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood, Iowa Cemetery.
Memorials go to the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department. Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
