Death Follows Baby's Operation

Harold, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Baxter of Hastings, died Sunday morning at 8:45 at the Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs following an operation for strangulated hernia. The little one, but two and a half weeks old, was taken to the hospital the night before by the mother, accompanied by Mrs. C.H. Baxter and Dr. Edgar Christy. It was hoped that the child might not be compelled to go under the knife, but that seemed the last resort to save its life, which at best hung by a thread.

It was the first born in the family, and he was a bright little fellow. The young parents have the sympathy of many friends in their sorrow.

The funeral will be held at the home at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning and the remains will then be taken to Randolph for burial.
