Henry Hunter, a well-known citizen of Tabor, died at his home there early last Friday morning. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Peter Jacobs and assisted by Rev. J.W. Ferner.

The deceased was born March 2, 1833(?), at New Lebanon, New York. He was married March 10, 1878, to Miss Olive A. Sprague, who survives him. He was in the navy during the civil war and was a quartermaster on one of the U.S. gun boats during the siege of Vicksburg.

He moved from Racine, Wis., to Tabor in 1882, residing on a farm near there for the first five years. John Hunter, a brother, lives in Tabor and a second brother resides in California.
