October 17, 1912

Edwin G. Woodrow, 48 years old, died at Glenwood Tuesday, Oct. 15, the cause of his death being a faulty heart valve. The funeral was held from the residence of Dr. F.M. Shriver Wednesday afternoon. Burial was at the Glenwood cemetery. Rev. Palmerton conducted the funeral services.

Edwin G. Woodrow was born in Glenwood, Sept. 30, 1864. He graduated from the high school here and later from the dental department of the State university in 1886. He began the practice of his profession in Shenandoah in 1892, returning to Glenwood later and continuing in the practice of his profession until his death.

He united with the Baptist church in 1881. For a number of years he was organist.

Dr. Woodrow was a man of artistic temperament. He was gentle and highly cultivated in his tastes.
He leaves no relatives nearer than his aunt, Mrs. Nettie Woodrow, and his cousin, Dr. F.M. Shriver.
In his will filed with the clerk of the district court and opened today, Dr. Woodrow left $1,500 to be used in the purchase of a pipe organ for the Glenwood Baptist church. The rest of his property and means were left to relatives.

In a previous will he left a considerable sum to the Glenwood Park system. His plan of leaving money to the parks was left out of the later will. His former will was made three years ago. Dr. Woodrow was active in promoting better parks for Glenwood and a strong advocator of the local park system.

A pipe organ, such as would be needed in the church here, would cost about $3,000. It is probable no immediate steps will be taken toward the installation of an organ.
