Mrs. Henry Ayers Died Unexpectedly Near Henderson.

Mrs. Henry Ayers died suddenly Wednesday night at 11 o’clock at her home six miles northwest of Henderson. She had been afflicted for some time with dropsy but appeared to be improving of late.

She was in her usual health that night and died shortly after retiring. She was 64 years old and was an old resident of Anderson township. Death was due to dropsy of the heart.

The deceased, whose maiden name was Elizabeth DeBolt, was born in Licking County, Ohio, Nov. 22, 1840, and on Dec. 11, 1866, she was married to Henry Ayers, who, with two sons Charles and John and one daughter Mrs. L.J. Rouse, survive her.

She also leaves five brothers and sisters, Samuel and Gideon DeBolt, and Mrs. Kellar of Macedonia, Mrs. James Worstall of Malvern and John DeBolt of California.

In company with her husband she came to Mills County in 1867 and they have since resided here. Mrs. Ayer united with the Christian church in early life and the funeral was conducted by Rev. Green, pastor of the church of that denomination at Oakland, Saturday afternoon, the services being held in the Methodist church at Macedonia.
