Lorentz Lutz was born in Strasburg, Germany, March 11, 1834. At the age of two years he, with his parents and sister, crossed the ocean to America. Most of his boyhood life was spent in Illinois and St. Louis.

When a young man, he came to Atchison County, Missouri, his parents and sister having departed this life. At the age of 32 he was united in marriage with Susan C. Wilson in Glenwood. They removed at once to a farm near Watson, Missouri, which was their home until March 1903, when he, with his family, came to Glenwood. He made his home here until his death, Sept. 5, 1912.

About eleven years ago he united with the Presbyterian church at Watson, Mo., where he retained his membership until the time of his death.

Ten children were born to this union, five girls and five boys. Three have passed to the better world.

Mrs. C.H. Saucenian, Skidmore, Missouri
Mrs. B.W. Crewdson, Glenwood, Iowa
W.D. Lutz, Youngstown, Missouri
Mrs. W.C. Runyan, Los Angeles, California
Marion C. Lutz, Moorhead, Montana
And the aged wife and mother.
