Thursday, May 30, 1895
Glenwood, Iowa

L.D. Prindle, of West Oak, one of the oldest settlers in Mills county, died at the old Glenwood Home in this city last Monday afternoon after several days' illness. Mr. Prindle was 72 years old at the time of his death and came to this county about forty-two years ago, settling on the large farm which has since been his home place. He was a man of strict integrity and enjoyed the confidence of his neighbors and friends in an unusual degree. He was a gentleman too of rare culture and intelligence but owing to his retiring disposition his intellectual qualities were never fully known or appreciated. The funeral services took place at his late family residence in West Oak yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at 2 o'clock and his body was afterward interred in the West Liberty cemetery.
