Mrs. Chas. Parker died at her home in Benton precinct Thursday evening after a comparatively brief illness with consumption. What makes her death peculiarly sad is the fact that she had been married scarcely two months before, so her departure was a frightfully sudden transition from the altar to the grave. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Hastings, Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock, the officiating clergyman being Rev. L. B. Carpenter. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wearin and was a noble Christian young lady. Her death not only leaves a vacancy in the home circle that time cannot fill but it is an inconsolable source of grief to the bereaved husband who had enjoyed the companionship of the beloved one but two short months. The interment took place in the Hastings cemetery.
