Richard Nelson (Dick) Steiner, father of Gordon Steiner of Henderson, passed away at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Monday Evening, December 7, after a long illness.
Mr. Steiner was a resident of East Mills except for the past 22 years when he had made his home in Red Oak. Rev. William Lee of Tabor, officiated at the services held Thursday afternoon, December 10, at the Perryman-Nelson Mortuary in Red Oak. Burial was made in the Emerson Cemetery.
Dick Steiner was born March 27, 1874, the son of Samuel and Margaret Steiner. He was married in 1901 at Henderson to Pearl Ella Stewart, who preceded him in death in 1940.
Mr. Steiner is survived by his son Gordon; three daughters, Mrs. Fern Slump and Mrs. Dorothy Honeyman of Red Oak, and Mrs. Velma Lewis of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Stewart of Portland, Maine, and Mrs. W. H. Viner of Red Oak, Iowa; two brothers, Vern of Glenwood, Iowa and Samuel (Tobe) of Emerson, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
