Mrs. Caroline E. Smith died at her home in Rawls township Friday, Feb. 9, 1894, of cancer. The funeral services were held Monday morning, at Pleasant Hill church, Rev. J. D. McClure officiating. Mrs. Smith was born May 24,1846, and, was at the time of her death 47 years, 8 months and 15 days old.

She was married "Nov. 8, 1864, to Thos. S. B. Smith, five boys and one girl being a result of this union. At the time of her death she was a member of the Christian church, having united with that body in 1874. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her loss.
