Walter Dean Conrad, 72, of Glenwood, died July 17, 2004. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2004, 2 p.m., at Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood. Pastor Doug Achterof will officiate the services. Interment will be at the Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Conrad was the son of Arthur Yaton and llla Leona (Schoonover) Conrad, born Jan. 11, 1932, in Valley Township. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-54. He married Patricia Runyan on Aug. 25, 1956. To this union two children were born. Mr. Conrad graduated from Northwest Missouri State College, Maryville, Mo., in 1958. The family moved to Glenwood in 1961, where Mr. Conrad taught science in the Glenwood Community School system for 32 years. After retiring, he enjoyed his family, golf, gardening, working out at the Glenwood Recreation Center and spending time on his computer talking to his many friends and relatives.

Mr. Conrad was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Carl Conrad and Richard Conrad; and uncles and aunts Joseph and Cora Conrad, Edith and Fred Jones and George B. Wallace and Glendoris Conrad. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Glenwood; son Walter Ray Conrad and wife Jacquelyn of, Omaha Neb , daughter Michele Bolander and husband David of Sidney; grandchildren Kimberly and Jeff Lemnck of Sidney, Rebecca Sipp of Council Bluffs, Debra Bolander of Auburn Neb., ánd Kathy Bolander of Lincoln, Neb.; great-grandchildren Andrew, Andrea and Nichole Lemrick of Sidney, Danyel and Emily Sipp of Woodbury, Minn., and Nathan Sipp of Council Bluffs; and half brother Robert Fogg of Ankeny.

Memorials are suggested to the Grace United Methodist Church, Glenwood Public Library or the American Lung Association. Hertz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
