May 14, 1908

Nancy E Calvert was born in Fremont County, Iowa, June 19, 1854, and died May 4 at her home six miles south of Glenwood, death resulting from typhoid pneumonia. She was married to Alfred J Harmer, June 18, 1874, in Fremont County, Iowa. To this union were born nine children; five boys and four girls. Little Charles went on before. She leaves a mother, a husband, and the following children: Edgar of Forestville, California; Mrs. R.H. Wilson of Glenwood; Mae, James, Clay, John, Hazel and Barton.

Mrs. Harmer had always lived in Fremont and Mills counties, Iowa, with the exception of two years spent in Nebraska. She was a kind and tender mother who took great interest in her home, was always anxious for the welfare of her children, and never seemed to tire in looking after her family. She was an obliging neighbor and an intelligent and worthy citizen.

Funeral services were held at the home Saturday morning at eleven o'clock, conducted by Rev. Peter Jacobs of the M.E. Church of Silver City, assisted by Rev. Andy Folden, under whose pastorate she was converted and united with the Methodist Church. Music was furnished by the Glenwood quartet. Interment in the Tabor Cemetery.
