Marcelyn Jean White, 70, of Omaha, Neb. died September 24, 2001 at the Hospice House in Omaha, Neb. Funeral services were October 1, 2001 at Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern with burial in the Malvern Cemetery. Rev. Fred Pilecki officiated the services.

Mrs. White was the daughter of Lloyd Earl and Mary Melissa (Howard) Ellis, born July 12, 1931 in Weston. She began elementary school in Atchison, Kan., then relocated to Iowa, graduating from Malvern High School in 1949. She was married to Chester Eugene White on December 1, 1950. She graduated from Iowa Western in 1968 as an EEG and EKG Technician. For 26 years she worked in the cardiology departments at various hospitals in Council Bluffs, Omaha, Neb. and Casper, Wyo. She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Council Bluffs. She enjoyed painting and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1955; sister, Velma Wright in 1986; mother in 1996; step-father, Earl Harrod in 2000; and ex-husband in 1997.

Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Hoy of Omaha, Neb., Laura McCain of Laramie, Wyo., Julia Carpenter and husband Tim of Chico, Calif.; brother Marion Ellis and wife Delores of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Rosie Jerkovich and husband John of Council Bluffs, Delores Stivers and husband Bill of Mesa, Ariz., Bessie Galloway of Council Bluffs, Barbara Johnston of Omaha, Neb.; and seven grandchildren.
