Edna Irene Clay, 79, of Glenwood, formerly of Malvern, died September 19, 2001 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Graveside services were September 22, 2001 at East Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Zimmerman officiating.

Mrs. Clay was the daughter of Archibald Clifton and Ora (Alexander) Clay, born February 7, 1922 in rural Malvern. She attended Pleasant Valley Country School and graduated from the 8th grade from Osborne Valley Country School. She did babysitting and was a former custodian at Chantry Elementary School in Malvern. She was a member of the East Liberty Methodist Church and the Women’s Society for Christian Service. She enjoyed reading, sewing and quilting. In 1984, she, along with her sister Velma and mother, moved to Glenwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her sister Velma Lucille Clay of Glenwood, aunt, Laura Clay Casper of Tabor, uncle Charles Vinton of Glenwood; and many cousins.

Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home of Malvern was in charge of arrangements.
