Blanche Garnet Laird of White River, South Dakota died August 26, 1979 at Valentine, Nebr.

She was born January 30, 1889 at Pender, Nebr. to Frank and Grace (Parker) Emerick. She received schooling in Pender and was married to Edward J. Laird of White River in 1919.

She was a homemaker and belonged to the United Church of Christ and Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge and enjoyed gardening, sewing and helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and five brothers.

Among survivors are her children Charlotte Weyle of Denver, Colorado and Garnet Laird of Quincy, Florida and Allen and Leonard Laird, both of White River, S.D. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters sirviving include Opal Baumann, White River; Frances Brown, Valentine, Nebr.; Leonard Emerick, Oregon City, Oregon; Anna Emerick, Alliance, Nebr. and Elsie Emerick, Hermiston, Oregon.

Services were held August 29 at the Methodist Church in White River at 2:30 p.m.
