Died at Pacific City, Iowa, Tuesday, May 3rd, Mrs. S.E. Sheldon, wife of J.K. Sheldon, Esq., aged 28 years.

Mrs. Sheldon was a superior woman, one of Vermont’s best daughters. She was amiable, modest, and possessed of that gentle spirit Christianity always brings its devotees. She had been married about a year, and had left the home of her birth only to close her life in the boundless west. Her residence among us was brief, but still long enough to have surrounded her with a host of warm friends. She will be missed at the home, in the church, and in society, most of all by her bereaved husband. How she suffered, and yet how patiently and sweetly she bore it all. Death was a sweet release from a world of pain to one where joy and peace are her heritage. Her mother came from her distant home and was with her for two weeks before the parting came

Rev. J.B. Sharp, her pastor, conducted the funeral services at the residence on Wednesday, and the remains lie in our cemetery.
