Mrs. John Goode, Grandma Goode, one of the oldest settlers in this vicinity, died Nov 27, 1905 at the home of her son Joseph, near Tabor, and at the age of 90y 1m 11d. Funeral services were held Saturday at the L.D.S. church near Tabor, conducted by Elder Charles Fry of Omaha. Interment was made in the Tabor cemetery, beside the remains of her husband, who died about 17 years ago. Elisheba Thompson was born at Hazelbeach, Northamptonshire, England, Oct 17, 1815. She was united in marriage to John Goode, Oct 17, 1837 and came with her husband to America in 1855, first settling in Geauga county, Ohio and coming from there to Tabor in 1867, where she has since lived. To this union fourteen children were born, seven of whom are yet living, Mrs. John Weatherhead and four sons, Edward, Joseph, Frank and Charles, reside at and near Tabor. Two other daughters reside elsewhere, Mrs. Flora Thornton at Ainsley, Nebraska and Mrs. Gideon Tracy at Elkhart, Indiana. All the children were present at the funeral except Mrs. Tracy. Mrs. John Goode united with the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in 1875, and remained a faithrul member to the end.
