Obituary of Sarah B. (Reeve) Swarts:

Sadie B. Reeve, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Reeve was born at Silver City, Iowa, September 13, 1887, died at her home near Silver City December 28, 1918, aged 31 years, 3 months and 15 days. She was united in marriage to James P. Swarts, May 24, 1911. To this union were born four children: Bern, George, Marjorie and James Jerry. These with the husband, parents and two brothers, Charles of Camp Cody, N. M. and Paul who is in Europe, two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Captain and Alice.

Mrs. Swarts united with the M. E. church in Silver City, July 26, 1903. She was always interested in the work of the church and was active in her profession, a member of the choir and did what she could for the good of the cause she loved. She attended the public schools of Silver City and graduated with the class of 1904. She then attended Simpson College at Indianola, Iowa a year. She taught about two years near Silver City and then two or three years in the Silver City schools. She entered the Nebraska Methodist hospital as a student nurse while a young lady but was forced to give up the work after a few months, she not being strong enough for the work.

Brief funeral services were held at the grave in the Silver City cemetery. The services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. E. B. Scoggan, assisted by Rev. Thomas Jefferson and a chosen quartette.

The pastor spoke from the words of Jesus to Martha, John 11-26, "Whoso liveth and believeth in me shall never die".
