Death of Mrs. Geo. H. Estes

This community was shocked Friday when they heard of the sudden death of Mrs. Geo. H. Estes, which occured at her home just west of Pacific City at 11:30 a.m. Mrs E, had been enjoying the best of health and the cause of her death could not be accounted for by two of our best physicians, Drs. Plimpton and DeWitt. The funeral occured Saturday at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Morris, of the Christian church, and was attended by a large concourse of her relatives and friends.

Claudia Ellnora was a twin daughter of Harvey Mayberry and was born in Ohio, Sept. 11, 1867. She came with her parents to this county in her early youth. At the age of sixteen years she united with the Church of Christ at Pleasant Hill, in Rawles township and always remained an earnest advocate of the faith she professed. She was married to Geo. H. Estes, Nov. 16, 1893, and two children came to bless their home, the eldest girl of five years, and the younger, a son, being but a few hours old. Hers was a triune life, a wife, Christian and mother. While as previously mentioned, she was in good health, she seemed to have a warning that the end of her useful life was near its end, as she told her relatives several times that she was going to die soon. Mr. Estes has the sympathy of his many friends in his sudden and sad bereavement.
