Mrs. Joseph Marley Died June 19

Olive Leona Jordan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Jordan, was born November 25, 1888, near Sidney.  She lived with her grandparents for a number of years and with them made two trips to California.

She has been a cripple from early childhood.  When only two weeks old she took the whooping cough, which affected the little body and left her a cripple for life.  She has been a patient sufferer, but her cheerful life has helped those who lived about her.  Her pleasant smile was contagious.  Many a person was encouraged upon life's journey by knowing her, who so patiently endured suffering.

She was married November 26, 1913, to Joseph H Marley, who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Marley of Glenwood.  The young couple established their home in Glenwood where they have lived until death dissolved their happy union, June 19, 1931, when Mrs. Olive Marley was called into the larger life.

Mrs. Marley united with Grace Methodist Church July 27, 1930.  She was baptised then as a testimony of her love for Jesus and her faith in Him  She has been a member of the Radio-Shut-In Club.  This organization was a comfort to her.  She often joined in with the prayer and the praise services.

According to her faith in Jesus, she goes on to the land of joy and gladness.  She leaves in this land of sorrow and tears her husband, father, mother, five sisters, and three brothers.  Mrs. Marley will be missed by her many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Glenwood at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 21.  Rev. J. Irving Brown offered prayer at he home.  Rev. and Mrs. Dodson sang at the church.  Rev. John F. Arnold preached the sermon.  Interment in the Glenwood Cemetery.
