Samuel Stewart Russell, who died at his home west of
Pacific Junction, Feb. 4, 1911, was born May 29, 1826,
being 84 years, 7 months and 6 days at the time of his
death. He was born in Guilford County, North Carolina,
near Greensboro. He united with the United Brethren Church
when a young man, and live a consistent christian life
until death.

The deceased was married three times. The first wife was
Mary Ann Gleason of Centralia, Missouri. The second was
Mary Ann Little, and to this union were born six children
-Mrs. J. I. Gochenour, of Plattsmouth.
N. J. Russell, of Pacific Junction.
Mrs. Emma Barker of Pacific Junction.
J. A. Russell of Ogallala Neb.
Samuel Russell, residing at home.

The last wife was Miss Francis McDaniel of Glenwood, and
to this union were born seven children, as follows:
William Russell of Plattsmouth.
Andy Russell of Yuma, Colorado.
Mrs. Francis Sterr of Bethlehem.
Mrs. Rosa Goodrow of Plattsmouth.
Mrs. Etta Price of Bethlehem.
John and Alfred reside at home.

His wife preceded him to the great beyond about eight
years ago. He leaves a host of friends, besides a number
of grandchildren. His funeral was preached at the little
village church at Bethlehem, by Rev. Ferdinand Seitz, on
last Sunday, burial taking place in the Martin's Chapel
Cemetery.
