OPINION-TRIBUNE
WED. JUNE 10, 1987:Funeral services for Lulu B. Slikkerveer, 75, of Glenwood, are today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood. The Rev. Douglas J. Anderson will officiate with burial at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
Slikkerveer was a prominant business woman in the Glenwood area having owned and operated the Slix Drug Store for many years. That store was located where Coatney's store now sits.
She was born to William and Ida Helms April 4, 1908 in Pattonsburg, Mo. She married Harry Pierce Slikkerveer in Red Oak Sept. 17, 1933.
Harry died in 1971.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 412, the Royal Neighbors of America, and the United Methodist Women Faith Circle.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Joyce Nyreen of Sioux Falls, S. D.; two grandchildren, Corey Anderson of San Diego, Calif., and Kelli Erickson of Sioux City; two great-grandchildren, Danielle Anderson of San Diego, Calif., and David Anderson of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Johnnie Helms of Glenwood and Doyle Helms of Farragut.
