Mrs. Raymond (Mabel) Yates died on July 22 after a long illness at the Plattsmouth Manor Rest Home. She was 77 years old.

Mrs. Yates was born on a farm near Glenwood on May 11, 1899. She attended Glenwood schools and was united in marriage there in 1921 to Raymond Creal Yates from Tabor. She lived on a farm south of Glenwood for many years before entering the rest home in Plattsmouth.

She was a member of the Christian Church of Glenwood for more than 50 years and was also a member of the O.D.O. Club.

Surviving is her husband, Raymond, Glenwood; seven children, Betty Hindman, Allene Curtis, Pat Vohs and Don Yates, all of Glenwood; Wendell Yates, Garden Grove, Calif.; Darrell Yates, North Hollywood, Calif.; and Gary Yates, Sun Valley, Calif.

She is also survived by one brother, Lonnie Ross; one sister, Ruby Watson; 26 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Peterson Mortuary on July 24. The Rev. Charles Cowell, Jr. conducted the services. Interment was held at the Glenwood Cemetery.

Casket bearers were John Yates, Rich Yates, Mike Yates, Randall Hindman, Tom Watson and Willard Stivers.
