Funeral services for Joseph M. Pakos, 77, Pacific Junction were held March 2 at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. The Rev. Robert J. Aubrey officiated, with burial in Martin Chapel Cemetery in Pacific Junction.
Mr. Pakos passed away February 27, 1989, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs following a serious illness.
He was born Septemer 22, 1911, in Muscatine, and lived for a time in Dukane, Penn., and Chicago, Ill., before moving to the Glenwood-Pacific Junction area. He taught woodworking and upholstery at Glenwood State Hospital-School for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Glenwood.
Survivors include his wife Barara; a son, Joseph, and two daughters, Angela Tyson and Alice Kaye Pakos; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Randolph of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. William Lucas of Niles, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Hafer, and a brother, Robert Pakos.
Ardis Dusenbery was the organist at the funeral service. Pallbearers were Randy Teegarden, Artie C. Evans, Don Williams, David Evans, Frank Green and Irwin Stone.
