Thursday July 10, 1941Mrs. Hartly’s Father Passed Away Wednesday
Daniel Hendrix Davis, 79, who for the past year has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Ethie Hartley on South Linn street, passed away Wednesday evening. The body was removed to the Myers-James funeral home and services will be held in the Methodist church at Strahan Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with burial in the Hastings cemetery.
He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ethie Hartley of Glenwood, Mrs. Bessie Retherford of Imogene, Mrs. Clara Lemons of Savagton, Wyoming, Mrs. Martha Switzer of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Eda Richie of Nodaway; also two sons, Hazard of Powersville, Missouri, and Williams Davis of Malvern.
