Funeral services for Victor John Young, 69, of Glenwood were held August 6 at the Cutler Chapel in Council Bluffs. The Rev. Victor Engelmann, pastor of the First Congregational Church in Glenwood, officiated, with burial in St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery near Council Bluffs.

Mr. Young passed away August 3 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.

He was born August 11, 1918, in Mills County, the son of Herman and Martha Boehm Young. He married Pauline Lane on June 9, 1951. Three children were born to this union.

Victor spent his life farming in the Glenwood-Council Bluffs area. He as a member of the First Congregational Church of Glenwood.

Survivors include his wife Pauline of Glenwood; two sons, Roger Young of Council Bluffs and David Young of Glenwood; a daughter, Joleen Thompson of Kent, Wash.; two step-sons, Floyd Lane of Council Bluffs and Tom Lane of Fresno, Cal.; one step-daughter, Phyllis Aistrope of Ottumwa; a brother, Arnim Young of Council Bluffs; a sister, LaVanche Roenfeldt of Glenwood; seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many other relatives and friends.

Doreen Duffy was organist at the funeral service, and Edward Hobus was soloist. Pallbearers were Charles Heitman, Creighton Boehm, Bill Boehm, Keith Boehm, Edward Hobus and Steven Roenfeldt.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's United Church of Christ near Council Bluffs, or First Congregational Church in Glenwood.
