GLENWOOD OPINION-TRIBUNE
DATED DECEMBER 21, 1936

Death came suddenly Wednesday morning to Ola Johnson, 73, of north of Malvern, for many years a farmer in that community. Mr. Johnson had been suffering from a heart ailment for nearly a year and his death followed a severe attack around 9 o’clock that morning.

A native of Sweden, Mr. Johnson came to this country when a young man, settling in Mills County shortly after his arrival. Industrious and thrifty, he started practically without capital and was well fixed in his later years.

Mr. Johnson remained a bachelor throughout life, living by himself in a little house on his farm until a few years ago. Of a generous turn of mind, he frequently helped friends financially and otherwise.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nels Olson of Malvern. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the East Liberty church with Rev. Walter Petersen in charge of the service. The body was laid to rest in the East Liberty cemetery.
