GLENWOOD OPINION-TRIBUNE
DATED MON., DECEMBER 21, 1936:

Mrs. Mary Hays, 80, mother of Ira Hays of Silver City, died at the home of her son on Thursday evening at 6 o’clock after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Hays was born in Tennessee in 1836. She came to Iowa in 1903 and had resided near Hastings for 25 years. Mr. Hays died in 1931.

She is survived by three sons, Ira of Silver City, James of Emerson, and Tolbert of Willows, Cal.

The body was removed to the Raynor Funeral Home and funeral services were held at the Hastings Methodist church Sunday with Rev. Howard P. Young, assisted by Rev. Irmen Tando, in charge and interment was made in the Hastings cemetery.
