The following is copied from the Opinion Tribune dated September 13. 1983:

Graveside services for Roy (Hogan) Starrett, 85, were held at the Tabor Cemetery, Wednesday,
Aug. 24 10 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Irving Mitchell.

Casket bearers: Delmar Wirth, H. R. Ruse, Keith Hickey, Stan Weatherhead, Dean Surface and L. M. Spencer.

Memory Book: Mrs. Beno Clapper

A native of Tabor, Roy, or Hogan as he was formerly known, attended the local schools and served in WWI and WWII and was a member of the Tabor Legion Post for many years. He was also recently honored for his 25 years of membership in the K.P. Lodge.

“Hogan” and his wife Ruth owned and operated the Brick Inn in Tabor for many years.

Survivors include his wife Ruth of Tabor and a sister, Margaret Waller of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry (Hal) Starrett and two brothers, Rollo and Bill Starrett of Tabor.

Memorial are suggested for the American Cancer Society or the Tabor Ambulance Fund.
