From the Opinion Tribune dated 10-23-1991:

Funeral services for Marie E. Boyce, 95, of Glenwood were held October 11 at Raynor-Hardiman Funeral Home in Glenwood. The Rev. Edward Phillips officiated, with burial in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Boyce passed away October 8, 1991, at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood.

She was born August 21, 1896, in Mills County, the daughter of William and Barbara Langes Lohse. She attended country school. Marie was united in marriage with Ernest Boyce on June 24, 1916, in Glenwood.

Marie was a lifelong resident of the Glenwood area, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood. She was a foster grandparent for 16 years at Glenwood State Hospital-School, and also worked as a teacher's aide at GSH-S.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a daughter, Aileen May, and two sisters, Annie Timmerman and Hilda Case.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Bruce and her husband Keith of Hastings; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Ardis Dusenberry was the organist at the funeral service. Pallbearers were Jack May, Larry Hayes, Mark Nightser, David Bruce, Mike Nightser and Willy Corrin.

Memorials are suggested to Grace United Methodist Church or Glen Haven Home.
