George H. Garrett, a resident of Rawles township for a number of years, but recently living on a farm southwest of Glenwood, died suddenly at his home last Thursday (February 5, 1931). Mr. Garrett had been afflicted with serious heart trouble for a number of years. Thursday morning he went out to the barnyard and did his chores as usual, but on returning to the kitchen fell dead without warning.

George Henry Garrett was born in Salt Lake City in 1864 and returned with his parents to southwest Iowa in 1867 and until their death his parents lived on the farm 4 miles northeast of Tabor. Thre were eleven children in the family and in the death of George, only three sisters Mrs. Emma Boyd of Ainsworth, Nebr., Mrs. Rachel Goode who made her home with her brother and Mrs. A. C. Harrington of Tabor, remain.

Mr. and Mrs. Garrett were the parents of 12 children all of whom but three are living.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at he Fairview church and interment was in the Fairview cemetery. Those from a distance at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. John Harrington, Mt. Holyoke, Colo., Mrs. Anna Utterback, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Utterback of Hemingford, Nebr., Mrs. and Mrs. E. E. Harrington of Omaha, Mrs. Beulah Jackson and Ruth Jean, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kearns, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Kearns of Council Bluffs.
