Funeral services were held Jan. 29 for Naaman R. Hubbell, 89, of Jasper, Ark., who died Wednesday, Jan. 26 (1977) in Harrison, Ark. He was a longtime resident of Mills County.

Mr. Hubbell was born in Mills County Feb. 28, 1887 to M. W. and Sarah Cummings Hubbell. He was married to Mamie Field in Nebraska City, Neb. and resided near Bartlett for many years.

Besides farming, Mr. Hubbell worked for Giant Manufacturing Co. of Council Bluffs during World War II.

He moved from Mills County to Denver, Colo. in 1972, and to Arkansas last September. He was a member of Woodmen of the World.

Services were held at the Peterson Mortuary with the Rev. Clyde Harmon officiating.

Music for the services was provided by Neil McPherron, soloist and Mrs. Dean Dusenberry, organist. Special selections were "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder" and "In the Sweet By and By".

Casket bearers were Pearl Hockabout, Raymond Hockabout, Homer Hockabout, Robert Hockabout and Johnnie Hockabout. Interment was held at Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Hubbell is survived by his widow, Mamie Field Hubbell; brother, Ralph Hubbell, Vero Beach, Fla.; sister, Ethel Irwin, also of Vero Beach; children, Verris Hubbell of Des Moines; Marie Abbott, Dogpatch, Ark.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, Albert, Edgar adn Ira, and two sisters, Orpha and Varnie.
