September 3, 1986Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1986 at Peterson Mortuary for Eva marguerite Kates, 70, who died Aug. 24 (1986) in Omaha following an extended illness. The Rev. Gene Crossett officiated with burial at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Prindle, Frank Raymond, Robert Stewart, Leonard Wasde, Alan Stewart and Sam Oswald.
She was born in Council Bluffs on Nov. 23, 1915, the daughter of Ephriam and Louisa Lockhart. She married Howard Kates in Papillion, Neb., on Sept. 30, 1938.
For many years, she ws employed as an attendant at the Glenwood State Hospital School.
Survivors include her husband, Howard; three children, Roland, Joyce and Randy; a sister, Goldia; a brother, Gilbert; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by a son, Ronald, and three brothers, Thomas, Leo and Willard.
