Services were Monday in Glenwood for Homer K. Kates, 65, of Omaha. He died Thursday (January 6, 1983) in an Omaha hospital following a long illness.

Kates was born and raised in the Glenwood and Pacific Junction area and lived there for many years. He has lived in Omaha for the past 20 years where he worked for I-GO Van Lines moving company. He was a member of Teamster's Local 554 in Omaha.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Kates of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Howard Kates of Harlingen, Texas, and Henry Kates of Terra Haute, Ind.; a nephew, Randall Kates of Pacific Junction; two nieces, Karon Prindle of Pacific Junction and Cheri Greene of Malvern; and other nieces and nephews.

Services were Monday at 2 p.m. at Raynor Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Hamilton officiating. Interment was at Glenwood Cemetery.
