Allen Davidson was born in Polk county, Ohio, Aug. 18, 1853 and passed away at Kansas City, Mo., Dec. 11, 1937 at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 23 days. He was united in marriage to Lydia Harrington in Glenwood in Sept. 1878. They resided on a farm in this community for a number of years. To them were born ten children, seven of whom with the wife surviving. These children being Mrs. Clara Peterson of Perry, Iowa; Mrs. Iva Harper of Oil City, Penn.; Mrs. Hazel Kotyza of Omaha; Mrs. Stella Colvill and Myron Davidson of Kansas City, Mo.; Mark of Colusa, California; and O. Chase of Moundville, Mo. Thre is also one brother Robert of Mt. Clare, New Jersey.

The Davidson family removed from this community over a quarter of a century ago and for the past nineteen years he and Mrs. Davidson have resided in Independence, Mo. Funeral services were held in Missouri after which the body was brought to Glenwood where short services wre held at Raynors Chapel. Music for the service consisted of organ selections. The service was conducted by Rev. W. Dow Crewdson, pastor of the Glenwood Christian church. The pallbearers were J. V. Walling, F. W. Choate, L. W. Lambert, Jesse Steele and Ivan Steele all of Glenwood and A. J. Leeka of Thurman. The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.
