The Last Will and testament of Hiram Hoyt of Indian Creek Township, Mills County, Iowa.
Considering the uncertainty of this mortal live and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.
First: I give and bequeath unto Homer C. Hoyt, my brother, the South West quarter of Section Twenty (20) Township Seventy two (72) North of Range Forty (40) West except what has been cut off by the Railroad for and in consideration that my Brother Homer C. Hoyt shall take care of me Hiram Hoyt during my natural life.
I give and bequeath unto my living Brothers and Sisters except Homer C. Hoyt Fifty Dollars each to-wit. Pauline Green, Lucy Allred, Israel Hoyt, Harriet Hughes and James Hoyt. My half Brother.
Lastly: As to all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate, goods and chattels of what kind and wheresoever. I give and bequeath the same to be divided equally between The Cottage Home situated at Denver City, Colorado for the purpose of better treatment of the Insane and the distribution of the spiritual book published by Colby and Rich. At Boston, Massachussetts, and I hereby appoint Homer C. Hoyt sole executrix of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty third day of December 1879.
Hiram Hoyt.The above instrument consisting of one sheet of Legal Cap now here subscribed by Hiram Hoyt the testator in the presence of each of us, and was at the same time declared by him to be his last Will and testament and we at his request sign our names. Hereto as attesting witnesses
