Ingraham Notes
December 16, 1876The school in Prairie Valley District under the supervision of J.D. Caldwell- a success. He is a good teacher. He had a spelling school a few nights since, and Miss Emerick, as she always does came out best. There is to be a show of some kind at the school house on Monday night.
The correspondent of the Opinion from here does not seem to be very well posted in giving his list of township officers. He gives names that nobody knows.
There was a wedding across the creek on Sunday. Miss Mattie Knight and Millard (Genls?) were the parties, and if a person is to judge from appearances, I think there will be two or three more before spring.
There are some cattle feeding here this winter. J.R. Allison is feeding 110; H.H. Burket 25 or 30; Wing and Sampson 60; W. L. Stone 20 head. The hog cholera has about disappeared. A few stock cattle are dying.
J.B. Kearney is putting a new roof on his house, which helps the looks very much.
Some of our folks were sadly disappointed because they did not see the Cantata, cause—too cold to go.
